The 2022 Academic Conference on Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy will be held Friday and Saturday, June 3-4, 2022, at the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation and Fantasy, 239 College St., Toronto, Ontario. The library is in the Lillian H. Smith branch of the Toronto Public Library, one block east of Spadina. Of course, much will depend on the progress of the pandemic; for now, our plans must remain tentative. TPL has asked that presenters, organizers, and volunteers fill out a form confirming their vaccination status (those who are only attending don't need to fill it out). Please complete this form and send it to me.

Our Author Keynote Address speaker will be Drew Hayden Taylor, a filmmaker, playwright, novelist, humourist, and short story writer from the Curve Lake First Nation. His SF story collection Take Us to Your Chief was published in 2016.
Our Scholar Keynote Address speaker will be Graham J. Murphy, who acted as the local host for the Science Fiction Research Association conference at Seneca College in 2021. The registration information is posted below, and the tentative program can be found here.

McFarland published the proceedings of selected papers from the 2005 to 2013 conferences as The Canadian Fantastic in Focus: New Perspectives; to purchase a copy, visit their website here .
Also, we still have copies of the proceedings of the 2003 conference, and the book will be on sale at the conference; please visit our Publications page for information. The collection features Margaret Atwood's keynote address plus the papers presented at the conference.  All proceeds from the sales go to support the conference, ensuring we can continue to present interesting speakers--both writers and scholars--and keep our registration fees as low as possible.

Thanks to a generous grant from the English Department at York University, we have been able to reduce our fees this year from their already low level.
