Chris Robinson Associate Professor of Finance
PhD (University of Toronto), CA, CFP |  | Background Dr. Chris Robinson joined the Finance group at SAS in 2004 after 22 years at the Schulich School of Business. Chris teaches advanced personal finance and financial statement analysis at SAS. His research spans many fields, including personal finance, retirement
planning, corporate governance, financial statement analysis, critical and alternative
perspectives on finance and accounting, regulation of payday lending, dividend policy of corporations and case study research of corporate environmental decision-making. Dr. Robinson has served on the editorial boards of Financial Services Review, Financial Counselling and Planning, and International Review of Financial Analysis. Chris served as a contributing editor of The Financial Post, World Accounting Report, and International Accounting Bulletin during the 1980s. Dr. Robinson’s two most notable co-authored publications are Denys Ivan Robinson (born 1987) and Nicolas Sergio Robinson (born 1995). With Professor Kwok Ho of SAS, he co-authored Personal Financial Planning (Captus Press, fourth edition 2005, with other editions in French for Canada, and in the US, the Netherlands and China). His most recent journal publications have appeared in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Analysts Journal and Financial Services Review. Dr. Robinson received his PhD in finance from the University of Toronto in 1985. Chris became a Chartered Accountant in 1977, and a Certified Financial Planner in 1997. Chris would rather play soccer, hike, cycle or ski, than attend committee meetings.
