YORK IS U RUNS BIGGER AND BETTER MULTICULTURAL WEEK AND WINS GOLD MEDAL

York is U, the student-alumni program is only in its second year, but already it is racking up success after success. Last year, York is U’s incredibly successful first annual Multicultural Week was attended by over 10,000 students and was featured in the Toronto Star and Maclean’s Magazine. This year’s Multicultural Week, which was held Feb. 2-5, was even more successful with more events, about 14,000 attendees per day and significant media coverage.

Proving that good news can come in bunches, the following week York is U was awarded a Gold Medal from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District II in the Alumni Involvement Category at their annual conference. District II includes postsecondary institutions from Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and West Virginia. All alumni programs in the region were eligible for this award.
