This is a closed-book test. Write an essay in response to any one of the following questions:
1. Bob Bone describes Canada as a nation of regions. He admits there is much
to pull Canada apart, but argues that the very diversity of the regions, and
the faultlines which shape them, make the nation stronger. Is this pious patriotism
or a shrewd assessment?
2. Canada is just a bunch of regions. Do we need to say more than that?
3. Can we reach any general conclusions about the ways in which Canada's geography
has been shaped by both physical and human factors? Illustrate your argument
with reference to examples.
