Hello, name is Ashley Grenville, and I am the Residence Life Coordinator for Bethune and Calumet College. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the College Community! My hope is that you will come to know your residence as a second home, and a place where you will feel free to live and grow. I look forward to meeting and seeing you all participate in college events and hopefully bring your own something special to our communities.

Bethune and Calumet are home to unique atmospheres, which nourishes all kinds of lifestyles and interests. I am sure that each and every one of you will be able to find your own place within this ever-growing family.

As the Residence Life Coordinator, or “RLC,” it is my job to oversee the residence community and aid you in your development here at York. I have a wealth of knowledge about University life and living at York. If you have a question that I cannot answer I will do my best to find the answer for you!

 I recommend that you review the residence handbook and the student code of rights and responsibilities; they are key tools to building a positive community. You will find living in an academic community is different from living at home; as such it is important to familiarize yourself with community standards and values.

Although Bethune and Calumet are affiliated with specific programs they are not exclusive to these majors, we foster many various academic and social interests. It is our emphasis on self-governance, inclusiveness, respect and appreciation for all cultures. We take pride in our community and encourage others to do so as well.

Living and playing at Bethune and Calumet is a life experience, one that can open doors and open eyes to the potential of everyone.
