Peer TUtoring in Study Hall & Life Sciences Help Centre (BC 102F)
The Help Centre is available for students in BIOL 1010, CHEM 1000, CHEM 1001, and MATH 1505. It is staffed by outstanding student peer-tutors although faculty members may also be present just before tests. More details, including the tutor schedule, can be found here.

Wednesday Workshops
Be sure to reserve Wednesday afternoons after classes for some interesting and informative workshops. There are Career Centre Workshops the 1st Wednesday of the month, followed by Learning Skills Workshops and SOS Workshops on professional schools during most other Wednesdays. The schedule can be found here.

Academic Advising (BC 210)
Are you having problems with your studies? Do you want someone to talk to? We have scheduled office hours Tues. and Wed. afternoons from 3-5 pm, either drop-in or by appointment (appointment via e-mail). Appointments at other times are also possible.

Bethune Writing Centre (BC 206)
Starting the week of Sept 13th, the Bethune Writing Centre (BWC) offers free one-on-one or small group instruction for all Bethune-affiliated students. To book an appointment, click here.

Career Centre Advising (BC 206)
Starting the week of Sept 13th, the Career Centre offers on-site advising Wednesdays from 1-4 pm, with both booked appointments and drop-in.

Science Librarians@Bethune (BC 206)
Drop by and talk with one of the librarians from the Steacie Science & Engineering Library. Just like at the Reference Desk in the library, we can help with any of your questions about finding ebooks, online articles, databases, data or anything else you can think of. We can help with RefWorks, citation styles and other similar problems too. Wednesdays 10:30-12 (starting Sept 14th).

Student Ombuds Service (BC 208)
The SOS is a student-run peer advising service utilizing knowledgeable upper-year students. They have the answers to your questions.

Facilities

JACS (BC 112)
With a projection TV, foosball and a billiard table, JACS is a great place to hang out between and after classes. It is open weekdays until 11 pm and Saturdays 12 noon - 7 pm. It is closed during Reading Week.

Junior Common Room (BC 115)
The JCR, a little quieter than JACS, is also a great place to relax and meet friends. It is right beside JACS and the BCC and BAC offices, and near most of the student clubs.

Student Clubs
Bethune is home to many student clubs, most of them near JACS and the JCR.

Study Hall (BC102F)
This brand-new room is a great place for studying, especially in groups. It's also the home of the Life Sciences Help Centre.

Group Study Room (BC 105)
Bookable through the Masters Office (max 3 hours/week).

Quiet Study Room (BC 204)
Some students need a very quiet place to study. This is the place for you.

Normans (BC 203A)
This beautiful room, which holds around 40, is used to hold smaller events and seminars. It is booked via the Masters Office.

Paul Delaney Gallery (BC 320)
This room, which holds 75, is used to hold larger events and seminars. It is booked via the Masters Office.

Piano Room (BC105A)
This sound-proof room contains a piano and space for one or two accompanists. Key from Masters Office. Weekdays 9-4 pm. Bethune residents have after-hours access to this room via their porter.

Lockers
Starting Sept 15, lockers are available for rental through the Office of the Master for $20 for the academic year (mid Sept-mid April). Students are assigned their lockers only after registering through the Office of the Master. Students must provide their own locks. Lockers are available first come, first serve, with priority for Bethune students.
