CUPE on strike!

On Saturday, October 21st the CUPE 3903 bargaining team met with the administration and presented our settlement offer, in an effort to avert a labour dispute. After considering our proposals for several days, the administration met with us on Tuesday, October 24th and rejected our settlement offer. The administration's final position did not represent any significant movement from their offer that was overwhelmingly rejected by our members during our strike vote. The CUPE 3903 executive has, therefore, unanimously called a strike for Thursday, October 26th. Picket lines will be up at 7:00 am; expect very long delays. We encourage all members of the York community to come out and support us on the picket lines.
