Connect with representatives from the Insurance firms to learn about opportunities within the Insurance sector. Meet professionals who do the hiring, gain insight into the field and get strategies and tips on:
- What kinds of positions and roles there are across Insurance firms;
- What kinds of skills/knowledge they're looking for;
- What the recruitment process is like;
- How to make connections within the field;
- What is involved in the application process, e.g. specific hiring dates, materials required;
- What to expect during the interview; and
- How to succeed on the job.

Unlike most in the insurance industry, I would consider myself to be part of a new breed - a breed of individuals that, very early on, target a career in the insurance industry. While insurance may not have the cache of some of the other areas of finance, I was attracted to the industry by the continuing education opportunities and strong advancement potential it offered. I'm thrilled with the career choice that I've made and take great pleasure in sharing my experiences with students and recent grads.

Having worked in the insurance industry for nearly 13 years now I am constantly amazed at how it can still challenge and excite me on a daily basis. Starting as a basic document assembler and working my way through the ranks of varying careers within a small company, I began my path in the vast opportunities that the insurance industry can offer. Working as both a broker and an underwriter have led me to my current role within the Insurance Institute of Canada. There is a world of possibility once you enter the insurance world.
