Registration Information
Welcome to LDS! We encourage all students to register with us as soon as they accept their offer to York. Registering in the summer helps to support your transition to the post-secondary level.
If you wish to register with Learning Disability Services, you must provide relevant psychological or medical documentation (students diagnosed with ADHD should consult the ADHD Guidelines). We do not automatically register you for services if you have sent your documentation to York Admissions at the time of your application. Once we receive this information from you, we will review it and then contact you to make an initial appointment. Please provide us, if possible, with both telephone and e-mail contact information so we can contact you as quickly as possible.
During peak periods, it can take up to two weeks from the time that you hand in your documentation until you are able to meet with us for your initial appointment. Please also note that 15 business days is required by the Alternative Exam Centre to be able to arrange/schedule tests and exams. It is possible that if your initial appointment takes place later in the fall without enough notice for the Alternative Exam Centre, you might need to write with your class until we can arrange your accommodations. We encourage you to come in as early as possible to avoid this from occurring.
Please,
- Print off the Pre-Registration Checklist (PDF) to guide you through the process.
- Print off the Registration Information Package (PDF) and answer the enclosed questions which you should bring to your intake.
- Read the power point presentation for New Students that gives a preview of services at www.yorku.ca/cds/lds/newstudents.html
If you have any questions that are not answered on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us at 416-736-5383.
Please note that students enrolled at Glendon College need to contact Counselling & Disability Services, Glendon site at 416-487-6709.
We are looking forward to working with you.
