Qualified Professionals
Our counsellors have advanced degrees in psychology and social work and have extensive experience in mental health services. We are bound by the standards of practice of our respective regulatory bodies.
Each year, staff members train intern counsellors (graduate students of psychology, social work and related mental health disciplines) as part of these graduate students’ professional training. All intern counsellors work under the supervision of one of our staff members.
It is departmental practice to record counselling sessions done by interns. These recordings are used for supervisory and training purposes and help ensure a high level of client service.
Recordings are kept in locked, confidential files and are typically erased within two weeks.
