* Eva Fernandez, 70, has come from her native Santiago de Cuba for the CALACS Conference,  and will meet with us in the context of an informal Espiritista  ceremony.

* Espiritismo Cruzado, a significant Cuban popular religion is  her specific religious practice.
* Espiritismo Cruzado  is an astonishing non-hierarchical  religion that crosses boundaries integrating spiritual elements from several religious and cultural traditions: Christian Catholicism, Yoruba’s    Santeria, Kongo’s Palo Monte, Kardek’s Spiritism  and  Cuban
Aboriginal spirits.
