Friends of the Earth
Provides recent college graduates an opportunity to join the staff for six months, work on issues and campaigns, and gain experience in the environmental community.  Internships provide similar experiences to current students or recent graduates.


IISD Young Canadian Leaders for a Sustainable Future
List of internet resources with a focus on employment or volunteer opportunities in environment and sustainable development, both in Canada and internationally.


Inter-American Development Bank
Lists mostly senior employment opportunities but there are some entry-level positions posted.


Inter-American Dialogue

Haiti Action Network
An internation Haitian solidarity group based out of Miami Florida. The group was formed following the coup against Jean-Bertrand Aristide in 2004. Haiti Action Network provides update information from the Haiti Information Project and eye witness accounts.

The CCA exists to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations in the Caribbean by facilitating the development and implementation of policies, programmes and practices which contribute to the sustainable management of the region's natural and cultural resources.


Caribbean Conservation Corporation and Sea Turtle Survival League
This Florida-based operation works to ensure the survival of sea turtles throughout the Atlantic and the wider Caribbean basin. Their focus is on research, education, training, advocacy and the fostering of dedication to natural conservation.


Caribbean Natural Resources Institute
CANARI seeks to create avenues for the equitable participation and effective collaboration of Caribbean communities and institutions for the managing of natural resources critical to development. Training programs are offered in the field of participatory and collaborative management. Study tours and scholarships for program courses are also available.


Conservation International
Conservation International's mission is to conserve the Earth's living natural heritage and global bio-diversity, demonstrating that human societies are able to live harmoniously with nature. Site can be searched for information specific to Latin America and the Caribbean.


Ducks Unlimited, Mexico (English)

This private, not-for-profit organization is devoted to the conservation of Mexico's wetlands. Provides information on conservation, restoration and environmental management with a focus on active participation.


Earthwatch Institute
Earthwatch Institute engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a global sustainable environment. Those interested in participating can chose from a list of international projects, including various programs offered within Latin America and the Caribbean.
"As a global organisation, Greenpeace focuses on the most crucial worldwide threats to our planet's biodiversity and environment." At the forefront of its activities, GreenPeace campaigns to stop climate change, protests against genetic engineering, and works to protect ancient forests, the oceans and its creatures. Island Resources Foundation
Island Resources Foundation is a private, non-profit research and education organization with offices in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and Washington DC. The organization is dedicated to solving the environmental problems of small, developing tropical islands. Internships and study grants are available when finances permit.

The World Conservation Union
The World Conservation Union is the world's largest conservation network, bringing together 82 States, 111 government agencies, hundreds of NGO's and thousands of scientists and experts. The Union's mission is to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable.
