Call for Workshops

We encourage submissions of workshop proposal on all topics in the general areas of databases, information retrieval, and knowledge management, especially workshops bridging these areas, or presenting new perspectives in these areas. A full list of current topics of interest can be found here.

CIKM provides a wide forum for researchers and industrial experts interested in the multidisciplinary areas of databases, information retrieval, and knowledge management. We plan to feature a set of co-located workshops.

Workshop proposals should be submitted in PDF using the submission site. Preliminary inquiries can be sent to the CIKM 2010 chair, Mounia Lalmas: mounia {@} acm.org with the subject: CIKM Workshop Proposal.

Workshop proposals should address all the following issues:

• Title and Acronym of workshop
• Description of topics
• Scope and novelty of the workshop
• Workshop organizer(s) and their credentials
• Format of workshop (1/2 day, 1 day or 2 days)
• Intended Program Committee (indicate those who have agreed already)
• Highlights (e.g., keynotes, panels, journal special issue)
• Expected number of participants
• Details of any previous workshops
• Draft call for papers (PDF format) indicating the relevant topics and the intended program committee

Important Dates

• Workshops Proposals due: April 15, 2010
• Notification of workshop proposal Acceptance: May 5, 2010
• Individual workshop papers: July 20, 2010
• Notification of Acceptance: August 10, 2010
• Camera ready August 15, 2010 (hard deadline for publication)

Accepted workshop papers will also be published in the CIKM workshop proceedings, which will be printed on CD only and indexed in the ACM digital library, together with the main CIKM 2010 proceedings. Thus, the timeline to print proceedings must be planned with the CIKM proceedings schedule. Other issues should be communicated with the workshop chair.
