Coordinator
Sara Macdonald is the Coordinator of the City Institute and the Project Coordinator, MCRI “Global Suburbanisms” research project. Sara has her Master’s in Environmental Studies from York University and her research interests include urban and regional planning, suburban growth and development and greenbelts. She has been with the City Institute since 2006.

Research Administrator
Adam Charnaw began with the CITY Institute as a volunteer while pursuing his undergraduate degree in the Urban Studies program at York University. Previous to this he completed a diploma in Applied Urban and Rural Planning from Langara College in Vancouver, BC. Always having a passion for cities and the urban, the CITY Institute is a great fit. Adam looks forward to the many research and learning opportunities here at CITY.

Senior Research Fellow
Will has a Ph.D. in Geography from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). His areas of interest encompass urban, social and cultural geography. His research at the CITY Institute focuses on governance in the context of the Tower Renewal project in Toronto. Will is interested in resident needs assessment, resident participation in the planning process and outcome measurements. Another area of interest for Will is the settlement process of refugees in North America, in particular access to affordable housing and home-ownership. Will is also a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Refugee Studies at York University.
