Eduroam - Windows 7 Connection Instructions

  1. Click on the wireless network icon in the task bar located at the bottom right of your screen.

  3. Select eduroam from the list of available networks and click Connect.

  5. In the Windows Security box, enter the following and click OK:
    • User name: <Passport_York_user_name>
    • Password: your Passport York password


  6. A Windows Security Alert window will pop up; select Details to verify the following:
    • Radius Server:
    • Root CA: AddTrust External CA Root


  7. Click Connect.
You should now be connected to the eduroam wireless network. If you are unable to connect, the following steps will manually configure the access settings necessary to connect to eduroam:
  1. Right click on the wireless icon in the task bar located at the bottom right of your screen and select Open Network and Sharing Center.

  3. Select Manage wireless networks from the left-hand sidebar.

  5. Select Add; Click on Manually create a network profile.

  7. In the Manually connect to a wireless network window, specify the following and click Next:
    • Network name: eduroam
    • Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    • Encryption type: AES

  9. Click on Change connection settings.

  11. In the Security tab, uncheck Remember my credentials for this connection each time I'm logged on and click on Settings.

  13. Under Select Authentication Method, click Configure.

  15. Uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) check box.

  17. Click OK to save these settings and close all windows. Follow steps 1-5 listed here in order to connect.
