Windows Vista - Connecting to the AirYork
The AirYork network uses a network service call DHCP. Most computers brought from home already
use DHCP network service with home wireless access points and routers used with home high-speed
Internet service. Here are the setup instructions for AirYork service.
These instructions were written with Windows Vista Home Premium.
-
First click start, then type "sharing" (without quotes) into the search box and click on the Network and Sharing Center

-
Click on Manage Network Connections on the left side menu.

-
You should now be looking at a list of your network devices. If you do not have a Network Bridge icon then please skip the next step.

-
Right click on the Network Bridge and click delete. When it asks if you are sure, please click yes.

-
Next right click on your Wireless Connection and click on Properties

-
You should now be looking at the Wireless Connection Properties dialog. Please uncheck
QoS Packet Scheduler, File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv4).
Next please select Internet Protocol Version 4 and click on the Properties button.

Next ensure that the Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically are both currently selected.
Now please click on the Advanced button. Once the Advanced TCP/IP Settings dialog pops up, please click the DNS tab.

-
