Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL)
TEL is the merger of select technologies and the learning process. In this regard, UIT has assembled a series of services that enable students to enhance their learning process and provide them the added convenience and flexibility.
Course Web sites provide students the ability to access course information via the internet in the relative comfort and convenience of their home, dorm or an alternate space. Course Web sites developed by faculty instructors may be either of a generic nature or they may be driven by the popular Learning Management System (LMS) like Moodle or WebCT.
Personal Response Systems for students are commonly referred to as “Clickers”. Your faculty instructor may request its use in the classroom in order for students and instructor to participate in interactive activities. There is a nominal charge for procuring new or used Clickers.
Text Matching services employs a product called “Turnitin”, which provides students the added assurance that their submitted course material is free of plagiarized content and follows York’s commitment to academic integrity.
