Seymour Schulich Building

Architects for the new 327,000 square foot complex employed best practices in classroom layout, office design and the use of new instructional wireless technologies to create a world class facility. The Executive Learning Centre and Administrative Studies Building, which includes a 10,000 square foot, 300-seat auditorium and 45 classrooms, is be one of the largest educational complexes of its kind in Canada, and will greatly enhance future teaching, learning and research.

This 'village-like' project is organized around three distinct courts, maximizing the natural light to the lecture halls, the two-level library, offices, and various common spaces.  Life in the new state of the art facility for York's prestigious business school revolves around the 'Marketplace'.  This dramatic three level foyer centrally located at the main entrance, is an informal, open zone where the exchange of ideas through student interaction, workshops and seminars is encouraged.  In addition to accommodating current needs, the facility is sufficiently flexible to anticipate emerging educational ideas and new information technologies.

Executive Learning Centre

The Executive Learning Centre, is a unique 60 suite 12-storey tower, includes four large classrooms and several meeting rooms and offices to accommodating the needs of the Department of Executive Development and the new Executive MBA programme.  This project includes a 180-vehicle capacity underground parking facility and a link to the adjacent Student Services Parking Garage.  The design accommodates special events and offers an enhanced level of service for its students.
