The Exam and Possible York Labour Dispute
Hi. I’ve had a few emails about this, so thought I would post a notice here. As far as I have heard, the exam will go ahead as scheduled. It would be legally possible for CUPE 3093 to strike or York to lockout CUPE members on April 12th. However, I have not yet heard anything to make believe that will happen. Of course, in labour negotiations, things can change quickly. While there are no CUPE 3093 workers involved directly in this class, it is possible that a strike or lockout could reverberate across the whole campus. But, again, I have no information that leads me to believe your exam will be effected next week.
If anything happens before your strike date (April 17th), the University will announce it here (I will also post a notice here).
However, you should assume your exam will go ahead as scheduled on April 17th. Happy studying. David
