I study quantitative methodology for psychological research, primarily focusing on psychometric analysis and longitudinal analysis. Some of the methods I’m interested in include exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (especially with categorical data), structural equation modeling, latent growth curve analysis, and item response theory. I have applied these methodologies to research on a variety of topics in psychology. I am affiliated with the Social/Personality Area within the psychology department at York, and I am a consultant with the Statistical Consulting Service.

We have excellent personnel and facilities for training students in quantitative methodology for psychological research. If you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to contact me, Rob Cribbie, or Michael Friendly.
