Academic Activities
I have had the pleasure of working with the Criminalization Project Team on a number of topics in criminal law theory over the past couple of years. See http://www.philosophy.stir.ac.uk/criminalization/crim-homepage.php.
Antony Duff is now directing the Criminal Law section of the Robina Institute at the University of Minnesota Law School. For activities, see http://www.robinainstitute.org/.
I am also working with Claire Finkelstein at the University of Pennsylvania Law School on a project concerning what we should do with offenders who create the conditions of their own criminal defences: the actio libera in causa doctrine. For Professor Finekstein's info, see http://www.law.upenn.edu/cf/faculty/cfinkels/. Claire has started a new research institute, Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law.
I continue to work on topics related to contractarian moral theory, and a number of issues in criminal law theory, especially intoxication in the law.
