A Sovereign State in Central East Africa bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the North, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the West, and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the South. This Country's Eastern borders lie on the Indian Ocean. More info

Burundi
Officially the Republic of Burundi, is a country in the Great Lakes Region of Eastern Africa bordered by Rwanda to the North, Tanzania to the East and South, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the West. Its size is just under 28,000 square Km with an estimated population of almost 8,700,000. Its capital is Bujumbura. More info

The country is named after Mount Kenya, a significant landmark and the second among the highest mountain peaks of Africa. Lying along the shores of the Indian Ocean, at the Equator, Kenya is bordered by Ethiopia to the North, Somalia to the North East, Tanzania to the South, Uganda and Lake Victoria to the West and Sudan to the North West. EASA is the representative of the East African Community at York University.
This includes Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.
According to Geography, Eastern Africa is inclusive of Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda.
Our Mission:
To provide easy integration of incoming students into the York University Community in conjunction with York International and Student Affairs, Various Departments and Institutes.
Mission
To provide a common meeting place for York University students, faculty and staff from the East Africa region or elsewhere who have an interest in East African issues.
To provide a mechanism through which interested parties can work together to foster closer relationships and better understanding among the York University community.
To provide an opportunity for the York University Community to make a positive impact upon the development of Africa and Africans in the Diaspora through contributions and support.
