Retina


(RET-in-nuh) The light-sensitive tissue lining the back of the eyeball; sends electrical impulses to the brain.

This is an incomplete diagram. For example it does not show the rods which we use to see under very low illumination, especially at night. But it will give you some idea of the retina's complexity.
