KAREN BOWES-SEWELL

Professor Bowes-Sewell has extensive experience as a performer, choreographer and educator in dance. A graduate of the National Ballet School and former principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, she helped to establish the company's initial choreographic workshops. She has received numerous awards and grants from the Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council for her choreographic work. Her current research focuses on issues of teaching and learning, with an emphasis on non-traditional methods of learning. She is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and member of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America. Her publications include a recent article in The Dance Current titled The Feldenkrais Method: How can it Benefit Dancers?
Karen Bowes-Sewell directs Feldenkrais Movement for All and is a guest practitioner at Pivot Sport Medicine and Orthopaedics in Toronto.
