DOUG DAVIDSON

Professor Davidson served as film editor at the CBC and the National Film Board of Canada, and was producer, director and writer for CBC and TVOntario. His credit includes two TVO series, "Saturday Night at the Movies" and "Aspects of Cinema". He was program director of several Canadian film societies and co-founder of the NFB Film Guild, and organizer of an NFB comprehensive survey of international documentary filmmaking.

A consultant to both TVO and CITY-tv on film programming, Professor Davidson has also addressed various academic bodies on educational television, their design, choreography and production of Hollywood musicals, the practice of musical "quoting" in Hollywood musical scores and other related topics.

His research interests include musicals, westerns, documentary and independent film.
