Student Advising

New Student Advising

As a newly admitted Fine Arts student, you must attend a mandatory first-year academic advising session. This session is designed to assist you in course selection and to inform you about academic regulations and procedures. Conducted in small groups, first-year advising sessions allow you the opportunity to meet some of your fellow students and to ask questions about your new academic program.

Advising for Current Students

Student & Academic Services is here to help you throughout your program in the Faculty of Fine Arts.

We offer personal advising on program planning, the petitions process and in house resources. If you are encountering difficulties in your program, we are here to provide guidance and support. You can book an appointment with Senior Advisors in Student & Academic Services, 231 Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts. Scheduled appointments are available Monday to Friday, from noon – 1pm and from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

You also have the option of stopping in to see the Senior Advisors Monday to Friday, from 11am – 1pm. Or email your concern or question to finearts@yorku.ca.

In addition, Program Assistants in your Major department are available for advising on the degree requirements for your program.
