How do I make an order for catering services?
Catering services at York are provided by University caterers in contractually assigned spaces or in other spaces, and are subject to the Temporary Use of Space policy and regulations. Requests for such approvals require a minimum advance notice of ten (10) business days. For events with alcohol service, please familiarize yourself with the University Policy for Alcoholic Beverage Service.
Members of the York community can make their arrangements for a catering service directly with any of our campus caterers after approval for space has been granted through the Temporary Use of Space Office. In locations not under contract to the caterer, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the caterer has timely access to the event space.. The removal or arrangement of furniture in an event space shall be scheduled by the client through a Service Request with the Facilities Department. Custodial arrangements shall be co-ordinated by the client for proper disposal of garbage and waste recycling.
The following locations have been contractually assigned to the following caterers:

Are you a student on a tight budget and time-line?
Please ask our caterers if they provide a "No Frills" Catering Service which is designed especially for Registered Student Groups.
Exceptions to Food Services Policies and Use of Non-University Caterers
The Food Services Department may grant exceptions to the Food Services Policy in the following instances:
- events where food is ethnically or otherwise unique and cannot be prepared by a University caterer
- events where small quantities of food and/or beverages are provided - amounts to be determined at the discretion of the Director or Manager of the Food Services Department
If it is determined that a campus caterer cannot accommodate the food needs of a client, a licensed food service establishment may prepare, deliver, serve, and clean up. This caterer is solely responsible for ensuring that the food is properly protected from contamination and maintained at the proper temperature during preparation, transportation, holding, and service in compliance with Toronto Public Health guidelines.
The client/event planner will be responsible for ensuring that the room to the event space is unlocked. The removal or arrangement of furniture in an event space shall be scheduled by the client/event planner through a Service Request with the Facilities Department. Custodial arrangements shall be co-ordinated by the client/event planner for proper disposal of garbage and waste recycling.
Requests for external catering exceptions shall be made to the Food Services Department no less than ten days before the date of the event and must be accompanied by a cheque for $500, a $5 million liability insurance certificate and a copy of the GREEN pass issued by the Toronto Public Health Department.
