Matching Programs

You can greatly increase the impact of your gift through a matching program — doubling, tripling or even quadrupling the amount of money students receive. It’s an excellent way to make your generosity go even further toward transforming the lives of students and helping York redefine the possible.

Corporate Matching Programs
 Many companies offer a matching gift plan to encourage philanthropy among employees and their spouses. This often doubles or triples the value of your gift, at no extra cost to you.

University and Government Matching Programs
4x:
Graduate Support Matching Program (GSMP)
The GSMP will match private donations of $50,000 or more. The program will match both the initial gift and the annual distribution, quadrupling the financial impact and creating an endowed fund to benefit graduate students in perpetuity. Learn more.

3x:
Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS)
The Ontario Government will triple your gift’s impact. A donation of only $5,000 will name an OGS for one year and result in a $15,000 award. Permanent scholarships can be created with a minimum endowed gift of $100,000. And gifts of any size contribute to the existing OGS Fund. Learn more.

Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS)
 The Ontario Government will match gifts in support of graduate and undergraduate students with financial need. Named funds can be established in perpetuity with a minimum endowed gift of $12,500. And gifts of any size can be designated to existing endowed awards. Learn more.
