Academic Advising

The Academic Office at Founders, in conjunction with other academic units, provides a variety of services to the student community. The Academic Advisor coordinates Academic Orientation prior to the commencement of classes in late August, with activities designed to facilitate the transition into university. The office is also involved in the co-ordination of Academic Re-orientation in January, as well as organizing a variety of programs and workshops that explore strategies for academic success.

Students are encouraged to see the Academic Advisor during office hours, or to make an appointment to discuss the selection of major, degree requirements, academic and personal support services, or petitions. In addition to meeting with the Academic Advisor, students are strongly encouraged to seek advice from their specific programs and departments.

In addition to the advising provided by the Academic Office, there are several other forms of advising available to Founders College students. All Fellows of the College are available to advise students in areas related to their specific disciplines and areas of interest.
