Student Employment Opportunities
Employment opportunities for goSAFE, Student Parking and CCTV are available for York University students who are enrolled and registered in degree courses in an undergraduate degree program at York University. All positions are part-time unionized positions within CUPE 1356-2.
Please note that at the current time we do not have any vacancies for student positions. Our next major hiring session is scheduled for September 2013, and posting opportunities are posted on the York Career Centre

goSAFE
- Pro-actively escort students, faculty and staff to and from on-campus locations
- Conduct nightly audits of on-campus Emergency Phones
- Conduct nightly audits of on-campus lighting
- Conduct nightly audits of on-campus automatic door openers
- Walk around campus, interior and exterior areas and buildings
- Inform Security of any issues encountered
- Various shifts: 5:45pm to 2:15am, 7 days per week, Glendon & Keele campuses
- Valid First Aid / CPR certification is an asset
Student Parking
- Front-line customer service to York Community
- Provide directions, information from various Parking Booths around campus
- Cash handling
- Inform Security of any issues encountered
- Various shifts: 7:15am to 11:00pm, 7 days per week
Closed Circuit Television Operator
- Monitor and report campus activities via CCTV
- Perform audits of cameras on a daily basis
- Inform Security of any issues encountered
- Various shifts: 24 hour operation, 7 days per week
