Research
Research at York spans the spectrum of interests including visual arts, the humanities, and the social and physical sciences. York’s strength in areas such as environmental studies, indigenous studies, feminist research and social history make it a leader in innovative research both in Canada and internationally (see www.research.yorku.ca/home/index.html).
The University libraries are strong in anthropological materials with several areas of specialization with the collection. There are excellent library holdings in areas where interests in Anthropology overlap with those of other graduate programs (e.g., Environmental Studies, Health, Women’s Studies, etc.).
The Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLAC) has its own research library and encourages graduate students to participate in seminars and other events.
Other research Centres such as the York Centre for International and Security Studies(YCISS), the Canadian Centre for German and European Studies (CCGES), York Center for Health Research (YIHR), Centre for Refugee Studies (CRS) and the Centre for Asian Research (YCAR) also strongly encourage graduate student involvement.
