Financial Information & Awards
All eligible applicants are automatically considered for financial assistance.
In 2012-2013 a full MA level teaching assistantship provided a stipend of $15,300.00 for a total of 270 hours of work over two terms (Fall and Winter).
Doctoral students were offered teaching assistantship in years 1 to 4 of their PhD program for an amount of about $20,218.00 per year.
Students with grade averages of 'A-' or higher were eligible for a York Graduate Scholarship (YGS) of $10,000.00 or $6,000.00 for MA students and $3,000.00 for PhD students in their first year of full-time study.
Part-time students are not eligible for consideration of any financial assistance.
Applicants who enter with very high averages are automatically considered for York Graduate Scholarships. Highly qualified students will be considered by the program for York's Graduate Fellowship of Academic Distinction award.
