Production Thesis Requirements

For further information, stop by the Production Office at CFT 235 or visit the Production Website.

Students pursuing an MFA in film production will need to submit progress reports signed by their supervisor at each stage of their thesis as follows:

1. Treatment/Outline or Script Approval.

2.  Budget and production Plan Approval; at this stage location equipment can be booked and taken out for shooting.

3. Footage/Rushes; preparation of Film Log (for steenbeck editing) or Media Log (for nonlinear editing).

4. Approval by supervisor of Rough Cut on film or Paper Edit Plan for nonlinear editing; after approval of this stage, scheduling of a window of access for the nonlinear editing facilities.

5. Fine Cut of production; with picture edit approved, arrangements can be made for audio-post facilities.
