York’s Graduate Program in Film & Video offers degrees in Cinema and Media Studies (MA), Production (MFA), and Screenwriting (MFA).

Study with our faculty of award-winning directors, scholars and filmmakers to achieve an MA or MFA. The MFA/MA program in Film is a two-year, five-term program for students who wish to pursue advanced studies in film and digital production, screenwriting, or cinema & media studies. During the first term of the program of study, students are invited to take courses in all three fields, a unique combination of theory and practice. Our objective is to provide an environment in which to develop the critical and creative skills of scholars, writers, and directors who will make significant contributions to the study and practice of film and media.
