The Graduate Program in Women's Studies offers an MA and a PhD in Gender, Feminist and Women's Studies to full-time and part-time students. Our Program is fundamentally interdisciplinary in formation and practice. One of our primary goals is to develop and apply a feminist analytical perspective to teaching and research on women and gender as they intersect with sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, ability, and age.  A second goal is to provide rigorous interdisciplinary training that provides students with the tools to enact social transformation in theory and praxis and enables students to conduct research and analysis both within and outside academia.

CURRICULUM CHANGES

We have recently made some important changes to our curriculum and degree requirements.  Students are subject to the requirements that are in place in the year they enter the program.  Please see the degree requirements for details.

PROGRAM NAME CHANGE

The Graduate Program in Gender, Feminist and Women's Studies is a new name for what used to be the Graduate Program in Women’s Studies.

This name change reflects the ways in which the field has expanded and diversified since the program started in 1992 and makes explicit the program’s critical engagement with the breadth of feminist scholarship and gender studies.

We are currently revising this website, email addresses and all program documents to reflect the new name.
