Chancellor Bennett Scholarship for the Liberal Arts

Award level:  Master’s and doctoral.
Award value: $20,000.*
Renewable: Up to 4 years of funding is available for Doctoral students. Master’s awards are non-renewable.
Domestic/VISA: Canadian citizens, permanent residents and/or protected persons who are residents of Ontario are eligible.
Number of awards: 1 award at each level.*
Eligible area of study: (a) Must be entering a PhD program in the Liberal Arts; or, (b) Must be entering a Master of Arts program.
Selection criteria: (a) Academic accomplishments; and, (b) Financial need.
Application / nomination package: (a) Student Financial Profile; (b) Transcripts (supplied by graduate program from Admissions file); and, (c) Letter of support (supplied by graduate program director).
Process: Graduate programs are encouraged to pro-actively contact applicants who are eligible for the award. Applicants to graduate programs at York may self-identify their interest to the graduate program. FGS suggests that interested candidates notify the graduate program director of their interest in the award, provide all documentation and seek a letter of support no later than February 22.**
FGS deadline: Complete applications are due to Sandra Yiu in the Office of the Dean, Graduate Studies by March 5.
