When arriving at York by bus (often the 196 Express from Downsview Station), you get off in front of York Lanes, seen here from the common room in the Accolade East Building. York Lanes is our community shopping mall. Once off the bus, cross the street onto the Harry Arthurs Common, crossing in front of the reflecting pond, with Vari Hall on the right and the grassy Common on your left.-
Looking to the left (East) you see the Common with the Canadian flag waving at the far end. -
As you cross the Common, looking right you see Vari Hall. Vari Hall is the hub of the university and sits at the west end of the Harry Arthurs Common. The reflecting pond is filled in early May, just days after this photo was taken. -
As you cross the Common you will see next to the Burton Auditorium the new Accolade West Building behind some large willow trees.
-
As you approach the south side of the Common, you see the Centre for Film and Theatre (CFT) to the left of Burton Auditorium. -
The Centre for Film and Theatre faces the Common, and its surrounding bus loop. In this shot you can see the CFT with the new Accolade East building in the distance. -

Upon entering the Centre for Film and Theatre, on your left is a stairway (the red door) and an elevator to take you to the Department of Theatre offices on the third floor.-
This elevator serves the Film and Theatre Departments, located on the second and third floors respectively. There is a staircase in the big red box to the right of here.
If you take the stairs this is what you'll see as you approach the third floor.-
Faculty offices and department staff are located on this floor. After exiting the stairs or elevator, head down the hall to find the Graduate Program Director's office and the office of the Graduate Program Assistant, Marcia Orlowsky.

This room houses the photocopier and the coffee machine and faculty cubbies, and often serves as the hub of the department. -
Just before heading back down the stairs or elevator, you might find room 301 open. This meeting room is used for classes and seminars, department meetings and gatherings of the graduate class.
