About Us
HDRNet is at present a joint endeavour of ART - a collaborative initiative of the UNDP, UNESCO, UNIFEM, WHO and UNOPS - and the International Secretariat for Human Development (ISHD) at York University, Canada. The content published on HDRNet is selected by an international network of academics and practitioners involved in the practice and research of human development and international cooperation. ISHD and ART-Universitas work in close collaboration to develop, acquire and publish this content. The site is administered by ISHD at York University. The development of HDRNet was initially supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO), Geneva, through the Universitas programme. It is presently supported by UNDP, through the ART Initiative. A special archive on gender is supported by the the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada.
ART is an acronym derived from the French "Appui aux Réseaux Territoriaux et Thématiques de Développement Humain" (Support to territorial and thematic networks for human development). You can view the ART brochure here. You might need to download the latest version of the acrobat reader from www.adobe.com
