Experiential Education

Experiential Education for course directors

Experiential education (EE) is a pedagogical approach that blends theory and coursework with concrete experience. Simply put, within the context of the learning objectives of a course or a program, EE allows students to apply what they learn to a specific problem. Courses with EE components are designed so that students, guided by Course Directors, reflect upon their experience(s) in a manner that leads students’ to deepen their understanding of theoretical principles.

The Faculty of Health Experiential Education Coordination Office (EECO) can facilitate the development of partnerships with community organizations, or help you further develop your course. For more information please contact us. Many resources are available to assist you in designing an EE course.
