GORANSON MEMORIAL RESEARCH AWARD
To honour the memory of Professor Richard Goranson who was a long-time member of the Department of Psychology and was committed to the supervision of undergraduate research projects, awards will be given annually to fourth year Honours students who are registered in HH/SC/PSYC 4000 6.0--Honours Thesis. Each award is to be used to cover expenses incurred in carrying out thesis research.

How To Apply
Applicants must complete an Application Form and submit a one page description of their thesis project along with an indication of the expenses this award would cover.
Application Forms can be picked up at the Undergraduate Psychology Office.

NEWTON/WILDER ACHIEVEMENT BURSARY
In appreciation of the education received by all six of their children at York University, Prof. Elaine Newton and her husband, Alan Wilder, have established this award.
VALUE: $500 (tuition credit applied to the next Fall/Winter Session)

CRITERIA:
- Completion of minimum 48 credits (8 courses)
- Financial need
- B average
- Major or minor in one of the following:
- Faculty of Arts: Creative Writing, English, Humanities
- Faculty of Health: Psychology
- Faculty of Fine Arts: Dance, Film (photography), Visual Arts
HOW TO APPLY:
- Provide a detailed statement of your financial situation
- Include an approximate budget for the next Fall/Winter Session.

THE PSYCHOLOGY UNDERGRADUATE BOOK PRIZES
These awards are offered as a means of identifying, honouring and rewarding excellence in the Psychology Honours Program -- Faculty of Health (FOH); Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE). Six awards will be made annually to the most outstanding Second, Third, and Fourth year Psychology students completing a full course load (one award for Faculty of Health and one award for Faculty of Science and Engineering for each year level). Performance will be based upon sessional grade point average.
VALUE: Book.

No application is required to be eligible for this award. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit.
JAMES ALAN BRACKLEY BURSARY
This award was established to honour the memory of James Alan Brackley, a member of the Department of Psychology staff for 32 years. It will be given annually to a psychology major in either the Faculty of Health and Faculty of Science and Engineering who is in financial need. Recipients must be Canadian citizens/permanent residents and Ontario residents as defined by the Ontario Student Assistance Program.
Students must apply through The Scholarship & Bursaries Unit of Student Financial Services in the Bennett Centre for student services.
THE W.B. TEMPLETON HONOURS THESIS AWARD
Each year, to honour the memory of Professor W.B. Templeton, the W.B. Templeton Honours Thesis Award is awarded to the 4th year Psychology student who produces the most outstanding Honours Thesis. This thesis will be selected by a special committee appointed by the Undergraduate Director, Department of Psychology. The committee will evaluate all theses that are nominated to it by respective Honours Theses supervisors.
The recipient of the Award has their name inscribed on a plaque, which lists all previous winners, displayed in the Psychology Conference room (291 Behavioural Sciences Building). This award also carries with it a prize of $100.00
No application is required to be eligible for this award. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit.
KOENIG PSYCHOLOGY UNDERGRADUATE AWARD
In recognition of Professor Kathryn Koenig's long-time commitment to undergraduate education in the Department of Psychology, the Koenig Psychology Undergraduate Award is offered as a means of identifying, honouring and rewarding excellence in the Psychology Honours Program -- Faculty of Health; Faculty of Science and Engineering.
VALUE: $1,000 (tuition credit applied to the next Fall/Winter Session)NUMBER: One
CRITERIA:
- Completion of 78 credits-major in Psychology in highest session G.P.A. on 30 credits (5 full courses) in previous F/W session. Demonstrate financial need.
- Must enrol in at least 24 credits(4 full courses) in the session for which the award is granted.
- Must be a Canadian citizen/permanent resident and an Ontario resident
EXCLUSIONS: Recipients of the President's or Governor's Awards of Distinction are excluded from Receiving the Psychology Department Scholarship concurrently.
No application is required to be eligible for this award.Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit.
THE SANDRA W. PYKE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship was established by Professor Sandra Pyke to assist an Honours undergraduate Faculty of Arts student entering year 4.

OFFERED: In-Course (Fall)
CRITERIA:
- Completion of minimum 90 credits
- Highest overall cumulative grade point average at the end of year 3.
- Must be enrolled in at least 4 full courses (24 credits) for the session in which the award is granted.
- Canadian citizen
- Double Major or Major/Minor in:
- Faculty of Arts: Psychology and Women's Studies
- Recipients of the President's Scholarship or the University Awards of Distinction will be excluded from receiving this award concurrently.
No application is required to be eligible for this award. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit.
