With York University's current Faculty and staff complement of nearly 7,000, we are always looking for smart, well-rounded individuals to join our growing team.
Established in the year 2000, the York University Temporary Agency (YUTA) is the internal agency that services York University's interim employee hiring needs. YUTA is responsible for sourcing, screening and placing all interim employees in work assignments throughout the university.
YUTA is also responsible for tracking employee data, payroll processing and co-coordinating the performance appraisal process of these employees. All positions are short-term and casual in nature, ranging from a minimum of one (1) day to a maximum of three (3) months.
York University is a unionized environment. YUTA employees are covered under the York University Staff Association (YUSA), Unit II Collective Agreement
The general minimum wage in Ontario will increase to $10.25 per hour effective March 31, 2010. This increase will impact some wages reflected in the YUSA II Collective Agreement. For more information, please refer to Changes to the Minimum Wage in Ontario.
To date, YUTA has placed, on average, 623 assignments per year in various departments throughout York University. We frequently staff Clerical, Customer Service, Reception and Administration roles. Occasionally we also require other specialized technical roles. Sample job descriptions can be found in the "Featured Jobs" section on the right. Have a look and see which one is a fit for you.
