York University has revised the Performance Management Program (PMP) for the 2008 - 2009 Performance Cycle, to assist Confidential, Professional and Managerial employees and their managers with the ongoing development and management of employee performance.

Framework for Performance Management

Framework defines the fundamental building blocks of expected performance for employees and the organization
Combines goals, measures and results with skills and attributes
Supports Learning and Development, Succession Planning and Resource/Capacity Planning and Management

Guiding Principles for Performance Management Program (PMP)

Design supports achievement of York Strategies, Resource and Academic Priorities  and Annual Resource Plans by linking them, as appropriate, to individual  performance
Program communicates annual work priorities to employees
Program communicates required skills and attributes
Employee/Managers/Directors are partners in cascaded process
Learning and development plans are an important component
