Frequently Asked Questions

All of our courses are open to employees of York University only and are not open to the general public.

To register for a course:

Step 1:In the York Employee Learning Calendar (YELC), click on the topic and date you are interested in attending. If you are planning to take an intermediate or advanced level technical course without attending the more basic levels, please review the course outlines carefully to ensure that you are already familiar with the basic skills.

Step 2:  Review the course description to ensure that the course addresses your learning needs and that you meet any prerequisites that are indicated. If you are planning to take an intermediate or advanced level technical course without attending the more basic levels, please review the course outlines carefully to ensure that you are already familiar with the basic skills. If your preferred date(s) is unavailable, please email us at hrlearn@yorku.ca to indicate your interest. We will schedule additional sessions as required.  Please note that spaces in our courses are limited so please register as early as possible.
  
Step 3: Click on the "To Register" button at the end of the course description and follow the instructions. Managerial/Supervisory approval is required to attend courses. 

A confirmation email will be sent if there is an available seat for your preferred date(s). If not, you will be asked to select an alternate date.

Registration is not required for Minibyte workshops.
