REPORT FROM THE PICKET LINES
ALL IS IN GOOD HANDS
AT SHOREHAM
Shoreham is the
closest to what one can imagine as being the perfect
picket line. Two
gate captains, one male, one female dressed in their
orange and yellow
security jacket monitor and marshall the line with
constance and energy.
Shoreham is a gate in/gate out line. One shift
leader per street
side keep the car in control. Calling the openings and
the closing in good
method, and the line moves with harmony. The two gate
captains talk to
their line, keeping them aware of everything happening.
Including the entrance
and exit of visitors to the line. At a certain
moment we even had
a session of Exercices & Slogans. "Up, up, up with the
wages. Down, down,
down with the tuition fees!"
The drivers were
particularly supportive. Bringing donuts and honking
encouragements.
Go walk Shoreham. You will encounter cheer and security.
All is in good hands
over there. One of the gate captains is even bilingual.
En avant la barricade
Shoreham!
