Final Examination

The final examination is worth 50% of the final grade. The examination is "open book". You may bring into the examination room the course materials and any materials that you have prepared yourself. Examination questions may be drawn from material covered in the lectures, workshops, small groups or the assigned readings.

Workshop Assignments

There are three workshop assignments. They must be your own work -- not the product of collaboration or "research". They will be graded as either Honours (H), Pass (P), Redo (R), or, in the event of an unsatisfactory second effort, Fail (F). The cumulative results of these assignments is worth 20% of your final grade.

Workshop Participation

The quality of your contribution to the workshop discussions and exercises will be assessed for 10% of your final grade. To achieve a satisfactory grade you must attend all the workshops. If you cannot attend a workshop, you should inform the workshop instructor.

Small Group Participation

The quality of your contribution to the small group discussions and exercises will be assessed for 10% of your final grade. The result will initially be based on your Small Group presentation but can vary significantly with the quality of your participation in the other small group sessions. To achieve a satisfactory grade you must attend all the small group sessions. If you cannot attend a session, you should inform me.

Essay

The 1000-word essay based on your small group presentation topic is worth 10% of your final grade.
