The evaluation in this course includes:

an open-book examination and
a brief case comment.
The open-book examination:

Part I – short answer worth 50% of the final grade

All students must write this part of the examination on the day of the examination

Part II – essay worth 25% of the final grade

Students may choose may choose to write a 1500-word essay on one of two questions made available one week in advance of the examination, or they may choose to write on one of two questions made available during the examination

The Case Comment:

A 1500-word paper which is notionally allotted 25% of the final grade. However, there is no downside risk to this part of the evaluation. Rather, the case comments are assessed as either "Excellent", "Good" or "Fair" and this assessment is used to assist where necessary to make difficult judgments on margins of grade bands.
