Archaeology Links
This page includes links on a wide range of topics related to palaeoanthropology and archaeology, which are covered in my courses Anth 2140, 2150, and 3000N. The topics range from primates and human evolution to world prehistory and ancient civilizations. Additional information is provided on archaeological ethics and legislation, archaeology in the news, First Nations and indigenous peoples, and professional archaeology associations. It's always under construction.

Primates
PrimateInfoNet, at http://www.primate.wisc.edu/pin/, is a great starting point for learning more about primates. Check their Resources in Primatology page for everything from basic primate facts to conservation to animal rights legislation to advanced educational resources. Their News and Publications section includes links to the full text of lots of magazine articles, and a great set of bibliographies on recent questions in primatological research. (e.g. do chimps have culture, primate infanticide, etc.) Well worth a look around!
The Great Ape Project, at www.greatapeproject.org, is an international organization focused on United Nations recognition of rights for great apes. As they put it: "The idea is radical but simple: to include the nonhuman great apes within the community of equals by granting them the basic moral and legal protection that only human beings currently enjoy." Interesting idea, given that the great apes are increasingly severely endangered.
