Currently, I am doing preliminary research for a new project on the life of Christine Bearchell (1953–2007) who worked as a writer, community organiser and activist with numerous groups in Toronto through the 1970s and 1980s. Drawing on archival materials and interviews with Bearchell's friends, lovers and fellow activists, I am interested in how her contributions to coalition-building between gay, lesbian, feminist, sex worker and HIV/AIDS activist efforts come to be documented and remembered.
