Certificate of Proficiency
Admission Requirements
The certificates are open to any "degree" or "special" student from within the University. They are not, however, open to students pursuing a degree in German within the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics.
Certificate of Proficiency in German Language
To receive the certificate, students must have completed successfully at least twelve credits in German language in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, as follows:
- AP/GER 2000 6.0 Intermediate German, and
- AP/GER 3000 6.0 Advanced German, Level I with a minimum grade of "B", and
- a written examination and an oral interview.
Note: Students who are exempted from an intermediate level language course must take another upper level course taught in German.
