Dr. Maria Figueredo (Spanish Program) was interviewed about her research on the connections between Uruguayan literature and music on the Radio Program, "Turismo Literario", hosted by Marzena Walkowiak and Susana Ventura at Radio Voces Latinas - CHHA 1610 AM, on Thursday, November 29 (7-8PM), with Raul Agosto, director of Grupo Ibiray, Toronto-Uruguay, and poet Rafael Rodriguez. Dr. Walid El Khachab, Assistant Professor, DLLL/Arabic, has been nominated for the Capital Educators Award, University of Ottawa.

Dr. Khatereh Sheibani of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguisitcs was interviewed in the Persian magazine Shahrvand Toronto, about the Persian courses at York University. Read More

Distinguished Research Professor Dr. Sheila Embleton receives York International Faculty Award

Dr. Sheila Embleton, Distinguished Research Professor in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, was recipient of the 2010-11 York International Award on March 23, 2011.

Professor Embleton was nominated by York Vice-President Academic & Provost Patrick Monahan for her leadership in being "a strong proponent for internationalization" and for providing a "broad and deep foundation on which we can build." Read More
